Georgian-born-british-based designer David Koma, has been announced as the new Artistic Director for Thierry Mugler.
It’s been eight months since the brand have announced a head designer, which left the fashion world with unease of the brands future. The 28-year-old CSM graduate, will take charge as of the early new year (January 2nd) and will present his first Mugler resort collection in June. Following Koma’s stint in the news earlier this week, he hit headlines for designing Beyonce’s Mrs Carter Show World Tour costume and he is taking his new found success as “ a huge compliment.” Koma has worked with pervious celebrities like Kylie Monogue, Rihanna and Taylor Swift. As a former Topshop New Gen designer he has already cemented as a regular for London Fashion Week.
